Hey all, i have Unix(red hat new version) server(192.168.1.10) , router(192.168.1.1) linksys and laptop windows xp pro., i make a new hostname 1lifeonly.webhop.net when i connect to LAN network by laptop and test len by SSH (192.168.1.10 ,root ,password ,port 21) and this suite http://192.168.1.10/18*6 it work and i can control the server, but when i put that hostname on my router and the username and password and make update it updating but when try to use the laptop from the WAN didn't connected on SSH said that "the host '1lifeonly.webhoo.net' is unreachable " when i open this suite http://1lifeonly.webhop.net/18*6 it said the page can't be displayed the IP that appear when i make the hostname i must put it or i put the server or router ip but anyway i try all that 3 IP but didn't work i wondered it work on LAN but did't on WAN , what i missed here

Have you forwarded port 80 and port 22 to your server?

i don't know if that ports is forword or no cus i'm not who make a server
how can i look for that ports by SSH or by server itself and if there is not how can i make it

Port forwarding is done on your router. If you're unsure about how this can be done on your router, check out PortForward.com.

I recommend reading DynDNS' tutorial.
