Hello everyone,

As many of you have noticed, we've been testing a new home for the DynDNS.com Community in beta for a few weeks now. I'm happy to announce that we've worked out all the kinks, and as of this morning, have launched the new community site into production.

You can find the new site at http://www.dyndnscommunity.com.

Some major improvements in the new site are:

1) A "Question and Answer" oriented design. We found that most of the conversations in our existing forum got started with a question from a user, and we wanted to put together a site that was designed for this format. We think the new site fits the bill.

2) Service and Participation Badges. You'll notice two types of badges on the new community site: one for participation in the community, and one for what services at DynDNS.com you are an expert in.

Participation Badges: http://www.dyndnscommunity.com/badges
Service Badges on Profiles: http://www.dyndnscommunity.com/users/2/cvonwallenstein

3) Single Sign On for DynDNS.com Users. You can use your DynDNS.com username and password to access the forum, or you can use any OpenID providers, such as Google or Yahoo.

We will continue to operate the existing phpBB community forum at http://forum.dyndnscommunity.com as long as the community would like us to maintain it. We have no plans to remove it.

In addition, we've taken extra effort to make sure the links that already exist out on the Internet to the existing forum still work. For the most popular content, we've duplicated the content on the new site:

For the not-so-popular content, we've provided a simple split screen to send users in the appropriate direction:

So what do you think? But don't answer here... answer on the new DynDNS.com Community!
