I logged in to DynDNS with my paid account yesterday and it showed all 3 of my hostnames having the same IP address. I tried refreshing the page but, no difference. Searched the Community and did not find anything. I logged in tonight and found the same thing. It seems like this would be something obvious, but I have not changed anything in my account.

Any ideas or help greatly welcome.

Is that IP address correct for one of those sites, or is it completely unrelated? If it's unrelated can you post the full IP please.

It could be any number of things, from a misbehaving update clients onwards.

It is the correct IP for one of the hosts, which is on an Embarq Static DSL line in Las Vegas. Another, also in Las Vegas, is on Cox.net cable, so it couldn't possibly be the same, even though the same city. The third is in San Francisco Bay Area on SBCglobal.net (now AT&T).
The IP address showing for all 3 is: 208.17.79.45.

What are you using to update the hostnames? If it's a software client have you checked that it's only configured to update a single host (ie, could somebody have altered it's configuration by mistake)?

I am using the Mac OSX updater downloaded from DynDNS from several months ago, so it is not the latest. However, this was all working fine until the other day. Is it possible an OSX update (e.g. Security) could have interfered?
I will try SSHing into the static IP machine and updating the IP Updater to see if that changes anything. I'll post the results - either way.

Okay, I believe it will be fixed as soon as the update client on the other two hosts send an update to DynDNS. Somehow, the client on the machine with a static IP had updating of all three of my hosts (at different locations) enabled. I must have inadvertantly done it when I was there last week. Maybe it was late at night or something. Sorry for the interruption.

Btw, how often does the client check the IP address?
Is there a way to force a check/update from my account at DynDNS.com?

DynDNS's own software checks every 10 minutes.

There's no way to remotely force an update/check.

Nope. Still not working properly. All three hosts still showing the IP address of the static DSL host. I guess I will have to talk the users via phone and have them lookup their WAN IP address so I can SSH to them and update the DynDNS updater.
I don't know what else to try.

The other 2 clients will only update when their IP changes, so that's not surprising.
